Fort Stevenson D.T. August 24" 1869 Dear Mother: Your letter of the 29" ultimo was received saturday the 21" inst. I am very glad you went to Spring and to Meadville, and hope you have enjoyed your visit, and that it has done you good. which undoubtedly has been the case. Under the circumstances I cannot help approving your determination not to move this fall. James will not of course stay at home because the family remains in Conneaut. I think there is no doubt but he should begin his course this fall If you have not already a winter supply of wood engaged, I think you better engage, to be delivered at once, from twenty five to thirty five cords of stove wood (hard), or twelve or fifteen cords of cord wood.
