Ann Arbor October 22d. 1869 Dear Mother I received your welcome letter Yesterday evening containing one of Jhons letters to you. It reached here the next day after it was mailed & the third day after it was written I think I receive letters here sooner than I did at New Wilmington though it is father away. I wrote a letter to you and also one to Henry Fifield last Satterday did you recieve it? I thought I was doing real well to write to you so soon and so much under the pressure of of the circumstances as I am surrounded. You ask had you if better
