have them brought from the Depot and you know how much the cartage will be there. I mearly stated this to aid you in [deciding?] the way of sending so if you fully though it best under all the obsticles and trouble & denials of the thing to send the box it would save the trouble of calculating so much. I am sory that you could not have had more good of the grapes; but you were not to blame, on the contrary you are a very apt scholar but never was in that branch of the expermental school of life before; (we never raised many grapes) Experience is the best of teachers. What did you think of the cost of my meals dont you think they were cheep. We settle again to morrow and then I can tell how much it has cost since. I think I will move to a room up stairs which can be had cheeper in a short time and that will reduce my expenses still lower. I bought a pair of pants & a vest
