April, SUNDAY 24, 1864 Regt.al inspection in AM Attended the Methodist church in Martinsburg sermon preached by Rev Pherris Chap 123 Ohio from 1st.. clause of 5 verse of 93 Psalm, MONDAY 25. Col G. D. Wells returned to the regiment to day. Took command of the regiment while on drill at 3 o'clock this P.M. His congratulatory order to the Officers and men read while on dress-parade. Said he did not quite know whether they were the best drilled Regt in the servise, but that they should be TUESDAY 26. Col George D Wells went to Cumberland. Co I and G returned from the scout. Regimental inspection in P.M. by the Col in command of the post. Weather warm
