Saving...
Head quartere Camp Curtis Jefferson City Missouri Oct 6th. 1861 Dear brother I came to the conclusion this morning that I had put off writing long enough I begin to feel alittle anxious to hear from home. The last letter I got was from you and that was as much as amonth ago. however I am well and in good spirits. the most of the boys are well there is afew though that dont seem to stand it very well. You will see Dave Couper and Joseph Goodwin back there before long they have got their discharge here and as soon as they get their papers from Washing they will start for home there is several others that have not been able for duty for some time. the wether is so changeable and sleeping on the damp ground so much that it keeps apart
