we are at Savanna Tennessee at the present time we got here yesterday morning about ten oclock we found general General force here that was the fleet we were following. but instead of finding eight or ten boats we found sixty or seventy and more coming all the time there is about fifty thousand men soldiers here now and they have all gathered here within the last four or five days. there is two or three gun boats here and any amount of artillery and cavalry there is a big move up some way i think. but they are keeping it very secret i dont think our officers knew anything about this force gathering here until we got here. I don't know how long we will lay here nor what they are waiting for but I reckon the officers know and I expect something will be did before agreat while. I have been up in town looking around alittle just to see what Savanna
