all you could in the world to keep him at home he would have went or it might have caused him to have been drafted. but even he had escaped all and staid at home on your account do you think you would have felt any better about it .when you knew every able bodied man was needed in the field. that every body was expected to do their part in some way whether able bodied or not. men women and all are expected such times as these to take an interest and to do their part. Foreign nations have always said that our form of Government would prove afailure. It is having aterrible trial of its strength at present. but we are going to show to the world that they have been mistaken. but in order to do so we have all got to work with awill ... Things are working about right at present and I think they will from this.on. I think in about one year or less it will all be settled. I suppose you have heard befor this of our late victories at Corinth. that seems to be adngerous Country around there. I believe I am glad we got out
