one Regt of our Brigade (the 46 Ohio) went down the river on ascout night before last in the night. the rebels have been getting very bold around here lately on the Arkansas side. they fired into boat day before yesterday just afew miles below here and the 46th. Ohio I suppose was sent dow to clean them out a gun boat was sent with them we could hear the gun boat belch once in awhile all day yesterday. last night the 8th. Missouri was sent down to reinforce them or at least there is where it is supposed they went it is rumored this morning that the 46th. were all taken prisoners before the 8th. Missouri got there but we dont believe the report for its not very far down to them
