each Company has about adozen niggers (more or less, generaly less) to do their Cooking we have four in our Company for that purpose well I must tell you something about how we have to drill for the last ten months we have not done two weeks drilling till within the last two or three weeks. for the last week especialy they have been drilling us all the time we have reveille at half past five then drill Company drill. till half past six at nine the battalion goes out about half mile from Camp and drills skirmish drill till one oclock then bayonet drill from three till five, dress parade at six. this skirmish drill and the bayonet exercise is both heavy work. it will come your turn to
