bed fellow or abetter Soldier could not be found. but getting him to write is out of the question. he is always buying paper and occasionaly speaks of writing but thats as far as it goes. I often write on his paper this paper that I am writing on now is some that he Captured at old Bob Smiths - as we call him - the night Noah was killed Ed was one that was told by the Col to burn the buildings and in doing so got hold of quite alot of this paper which is of the very best quality and is doing better service to my notion than if it had been left there. as that Same Smith is a Captain now in the Guerrilla Service and his son was amajor in the Confederate Service before. but thank fortune theyve got no home to go to when their
