term of soldiering is up, not in these parts at any rate ... you said you had had aplesant winter in Iowa this last winter I am glad to hear it for I know they needed it but we have also had aplesant winter down here any more than its been alittle to wet. but that didnt hurt us only when we were on duty. we have very Comfortable quarters here for soldiers we had the privilage of making them our selves and of Course they are good the Shanty that I stay in four of us put up and four of us lives in it the four is Henry Roberts, Ben Kimles, Ed Weed and myself we have things fixed almost to our notion Well my pen is wore out my ink has turned over and run out & my hand is tired out so I must quit Write soon and oblige your brother Oliver
