the river. We are waiting now I think for our teams and Camp They will not be here till this evening. I said we were going to leave Tenn. I dont know for certain about that. but I think of course we are. We may go up the river to Rosecrans but I think not. I am going to see the 36th Iowa if there is any chance. and the 83rd Ind I saw Calvin Helsey here this morning He is in good health I didnt learn what he is doing I only saw him a few minutes My letter is short this time but I will write again before long whichever way we go I expect I have done wrong in writing for I expect you will be uneasy now till you hear from us again. and it may be so that I will not have a chance of writing again for a month or so. but I assure you there is no cause for uneasyness even if we should go to Vicksburg for Gen Grant has a large army there and
