March, Saturday 26, 1864 Near Wood Ville Ala. Very Pleasant day in Camp to day, the Sutler of the 31st Iowa has lager beer and a good many of the boys feel quite mery over it, there is a great talk of our going on a march Soon March, Sunday 27, 1864 Near Wood Ville Ala At 1 oclock last night our Pickets was fired up on again by the Gurillas, there was three vollies of musketry & a few scatering Shot, the Canon at Div Head quarters was fired for a Signal, and Soon after that all of the Regt was out in line of battle making for the [suppose?] [enemy?] when there Came an order and inform us that [?]
