May, Tuesday 17, 1864 Bivouac on Coon creak Ga we took up line of march at 8 o'clock this morning and got in to camp at 6 o'clock P.M. march 17 miles it rain all the after noon we had to march through it all, the 16th. A.C. had considerable of fighting to day on another road east of our we have traveled over some of the best country to day that I have sene in dixie land May, Wednesday 18, 1864 Dr Bardsley Plantation Ga march at 8 o'clock A.M. and march 14 miles to day over a pretty fair county we pass through a very pretty little town to day is call Adaresville Ga we stopt a wile at the town and made coffee. we left here at 4 P.M. and march 7 miles before we halted for the night got in to Camp at 10 in the eve I met with John Loomis of the 42th. Ills vol 4th,,A.C. we had a scirmish to day and Kiled a rble Col. by the name of Ellwells
