June, Monday 6, 1864 Camped 1 mile east of Acworth, Cobb Co,,Ga we took up line of march at 6 oclock A.M. and march 6 miles to day it was very Cloudy this fore noon so it was very good marching our Div,,is in the advance to day and the only ones on this road we came to the rail road to at at the point Acworthville Cobb County Georgia. the boy are prety hard up for ration so when we got in to Camp the boy all [Shove?] out a foragin hogs & Sheep we had a sower of rain. I receive a letter from J.D. Sanders to day June, Tuesday 7, 1864 Camped 1 mile east of Acworth, Ga,, it has ben a very pleasant day there has not ben much a going on in camp to day we had company inspection at retreat this after noon I wrote a letter to J.D. Sanders Center Point Linn Co. Iowa to day. we had a Shower of rain this after noon late.
