June, Tuesday 14, 1864 Bivouac near Big Shanty Station Ga our Co was detail at mid night last for picket was relive at 6 oclock this morning we drew beef this fore noon for the first in a week. there was a Capt,, & 35 men diserted the rebles last night and Come over and give them Selves up to our Brigade they Say that there whole Brigade wants to disert that Co,, belong to the 5th VA. June, Wednesday 15, 1864 near Bigs Shanty Station Ga early this morning our battries open on the enamy and kept it up all day all around the lines our men advanced te lines from 75 to 150 yards last night and to day we made a charge and drove the enamy from there 1st,, line of work and held it there was a great many Came in as diserters in our division to day. the 4th,,division took one Col,, & 600. hundred men pris. to day no rain today (Between the above lines:-) one of our Co,, wounded by a Shell to day by the name of Isaac Guard of farbank
