5 pm have orders to march got ready this afternoon I went to the front we sent in a flag of truce to berry our dead I went down they gave us 4 hours to get them of. I was over the battle feild we found 100 dead bodies and 3 alive they would not respect our flag of truce orels there whould not have been so many Dead till this morning it was a horrible sight they can never take it at this point till we (Upside-down, at bottom of page:-) THURSDAY, December 27th, 1855.
