Lip Salve 2 oz's of Hogs Lard two penniworth of white wax 1 penny worth of alkinet root 3 penniworth Balsam of Peru. Melt ye lard & wax & then the root until a good color. Miss. Handford's Salve Take 2 ounces of Sallad oil and 2 ounces of best vinegar put on a slow fire in a clean pipkin and let it simmer until it is well mix'd and then shave in 2 ounces of diachylon just keep it on the fire until it is properly incorporated.
