Bran Date & nut muffins. 1/4 cup shortening 2 teaspoons B. powder. 1 egg 1/4 cup sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup Pillsbury flour 1 " " bran 2/3 " dates pitted and cut in small pieces 1/2 cup walnut meats cut in small pieces 3/4 cup milk. Cream shortening and sugar Add beaten egg, flour in which B. powder and salt have been sifted, bran & milk. Stir in dates and nuts over which some of the cup of flour has been sifted.
