good Devils Food Cake 2 cups sugar 1/2 " lard 3 eggs 1 cup sour milk 1 teaspoon soda 2 1/2 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 2/3 cup chocolate & fill with boiling water. Flavoring and whites of eggs last. Oatmeal Cookies 1 cup sugar 3/4 cup butter 2 eggs well beaten 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 " salt 1 cup of flour 2 cups of uncooked oatmeal 1 cup raisins 3/4 teaspoon of soda Drop in a spoon. Add nuts Bake slow.
