Cream of Tomato Soup 1/2 can tomatoes 1 slice onion 2 tsp. sugar 4 tbsp. flour 1/4 tsp soda 1 tsp. salt 1 qt. milk 1/8 tsp. pepper 4 tbsp. butter Scald the milk with the onion. Melt the butter, add flour and seasonings and stir until smooth. Add milk gradually and cook until thick and smooth. Cook tomatoes and sugar fifteen minutes, add soda and rub through a sieve. Combine mixture and serve. Do not cook after mixtures are put together
