30 Receipt for a cold by Miss E. McCall. 2 tablespoonfuls of very brown sugar 1 Cup of Vinegar - 1 Lemon 1/2 Cup of Honey 3 or 4 drops of Laudanum a little butter Boil it for a long time and then take a teaspoonful every once and a while when cold Another for same complaint, Author unknown. 3 cents worth of hoarhound 3 cents worth of Gum Arabic A small handful of hops Put into two quarts of water and let it boil down to one, strain it and then add a quart of molasses + boil for about ten minutes. Amen
