Composition Cake A pound and little more than a quarter of flour 3/4 of a pound of Butter 1 1/2 pounds of sugar 4 eggs 1 teaspoonfull of pearlash 3 gills of Sweet milk 1 pound of raisins 1/2 pound of currents The pearlash is dissolved in part of the milk and is not added untill the mixture is ready for the oven
