Inflamed eyes very painful may be cured in a short time & the eyes made perfectly strong by using a decoction of elderflowers & Laudnum. Add three or four drops of the Laudnum to a small glass of the tea & let the mixture run into the eyes three or four times a day. Cloves, cedar & rhubarb each one ounce, pulverize & sprinkle among your clothes will prevent moths Lemon syrup Take one pound of Havana sugar boil it in water down to a quart drop in the white of an egg, & strain it. Add one quarter of an ounce of Tartaric acid: let it stand two days, shake it often. Four drops of oil of lemons will much improve it.
