Ginger Crackers Take one pint of molasses, two cups of sugar, 1/2 pint of melted lard or butter, two tablespoonsful of ginger. Black Cake good tried Two cups of butter, two of sugar, two of molasses, one of cream six eggs 6 cups of flour, and one table spoonful of soda. Bake one hour & a half. Ginger Pies. To one pint of molasses take six eggs, one, tablespoonful of ginger, one of saleratus, one, small tinful of melted butter, beat the eggs seperately. Bakers Ginger Brad Three fourths of a pound of flour one quart of molasses, one fourth of a pound of butter, one ounce of saleratus & one ounce of ginger. Sponge Cake. Four large eggs, two cups of flour two cups of sugar even full; beat the eggs separate, then stir in the flour, and without delay, put it in the oven. Dough Nuts. Three cups of sugar, three eggs, one cup of butter a pint of butter milk, one cup of cream, one [illegible] saleratus sufficient for the buttermilk [illegible] with flour. 2 teaspoons [illegible]
