Give 1 ounce of Pot ash disolved in water place coperas water in crocks in stable and barn [tar?] 3 times a day, feed 3 times a day 1 quart of oats boiled and 3 quarts of bran each time made into mash feed with water that has the chill taken off and blanket the horse well and rub throat and glands 8 times a day thoroughly with terpentine and lard and always take the chill of the water when water is given to the animal.
