Ginger Cookies 1 pt of molasses, 1 tea cup of sugar, better than a tea-cup of butter, or butter & [lard?] 1 table spoonful of ginger, 1 table spoonful of soda. flour to make a stiff dough. Put the molasses, sugar and butter together on the stove and let it boil. set it off to cool, and stir the soda on to it then the ginger, & flour. role out very thin.
