Saving...
38. Saturday April 1st 1876. We got the work done up in good time this morning and Mother went to town. I got the dinner Mr Bently played a fine april fool on us, pretended he was sick and we took dinner up stairs to him. How I did laugh. I never enjoyed any-thing so much. I did nothing but read in the afternoon and finished up my my book just at supper time. In the evening I fixed stockings and played cards. This has been a chilly wintry day. Sunday April 2nd 1876. I read some today. And wrote to Will Reed and Brother Charlie besides an order to Ottumwa for music It has been a very nice day and I was not moody at all. Monday April 3rd 1876 I sewed all day and in the evening I wrote a long letter to Laura Short. Mr Bently was down stairs playing cards. Weather chilly and disagreeable.
