Saving...
136. Friday December 29th 1876. It was late when we got up this morning Will finished the floor yesterday. So we could clean up the dining room today We girls took our time for it and cleaned the house all up in good shape. We had dinner at three oclock. We were just doing up the work when Elsie Moreland came very unexpectedly. We were glad to see her. We were all ready for the company in ample time. It was a clear cold night. There was nearly twenty couple here. And without doubt we had the best time we ever did at a party here at home. The music was excellent, and the new floor hard-to-beat. The supper passed of without a single mishap. I dident see a single instance where our good-time could have been improved on. It was three oclock when the folks went home, and that seemed too soon. I only hope we may be permitted to have as pleasant a time in another year.
