235. Wednesday September 19th 1877. I did the washing this forenoon and a part of the ironing in the afternoon Mother and Rob went to town to attend to business. Uncle Jim was here for dinner. Hatt was busy finishing her polinaise, Winnie came over and Hatt went home with her to stay all night. I had a letter from Jennie and Lou today. Thursday September 20th 1877. The boys got an early start to the fair. I did most of the morning work myself as Mother went to town. We got the dinner over as soon as possible and began work in the store room. Mr Summer helped us and we got the old floor chest out and things moved around generally. I was very tired when night came. I practiced a little in the evening. And Pottle and I started to meet the children when we thought we heard the train but we walked clear to Wins and they had not come
