Thursday December 21st 1933 I was busy in AM. Did some ironing had lunch early and rode to town(crossed out) Cedar Rapids with Mrs Gay. a wonderful day. I sewed and read in evening Friday December 22- 1933 I was busy all forenoon getting dinner. The Byringtons were here to dinner. I left the dishes and Mary took me up town. I did the work when I got back and rested awhile. Hattie came for supper. Mary and Buddy came to take us to The Presbyterian church to The childrens entertainment. Birdie came tonight celt brought me [$]? 100.00 from [illegible] Saturday December 23- 1933 I did the AM wash. Rob came for me about eleven oclock. I found a quilt Hattie was to give to Buddy. I enjoyed the day with The girls. Rob brought me home after supper. I did up Christmas gifts Sunday December 24- 1933 I went to SS [&]? church. had dinner at home. Went over to The Legion Bld to hear singing. Mary celt [&]? Buddy came for me after that we looked at our presents and William and Mary brought me home much colder. Monday December 25- 1933 Christmas day. celt called while I was eating breakfast a neighbor had found George [Folsam]? dead in his home that morning. celt went over at once. The [Whitrtones]? came for me soon after noon to go to Byringtons. we had many presents. It snowed and turned very cold. William brought me home.
