Thursday July 21st 1927 I knit on bag and wrote Cousin Jen. Letter from Cora. There was a hard storm with heavy rain at one oclock. It rained most of the afternoon. Friday July 22nd 1927 I knit most of the day. Edith busy. She was up town in the AM. Read in evening. Mr Albers here. Saturday July 23rd 1927 I am 76 years old today. I walked up town for thread to finish the bag I am knitting. Worked at that all day. Edith up town for mail. I had letters from Mays daughter, Caroline Peckham and birthday card from The Girls. Edith a letter from them. weather very pleasant. Sunday July 24th 1927 I went to S S and church by taxi. Edith there to come home with me. She was away all afternoon. I wrote Cora and Mays daughter. John & Etta Sanford called. After supper I went to Halls for a call. Read later. Monday July 25th 1927 I read some. Edith doing washing. Slept in afternoon. After supper went over to Mrs Hattons for a long call. Tuesday July 26th 1927 Neglected some things to make a braided rug that I worked at in PM. Letters from Ida & Winnie. Wrote Lydia. Wednesday July 27th 1927 Worked on rug in AM. Letters from L D L and Mrs Falk. wrote L D L. Spent the afternoon with Lizzie Duncan and Mrs Hatton here in evening. I read Mr Williams son Frances was drowned Sunday in the river at home.
