Saturday, January 21, 1865. Did some shopping with the girls, and wrote a few letters. But most of the day spent in talking over things that have occurred since left N -. Telegram from Mrs W- that we think bodes ill. I do hope it is not as we fear. What rest and peace to be here with at least one loved one that I can talk freely with. O! the blessings that crown and crowd my life.
