Wednesday, May 10, 1865. Passed Mt Vernon soon after daylight and was in Washington soon after. Miss F welcomed me. Found a number of letters from loved ones waiting me. Too much worn out with the trip to accomplish anything. Spent the evening with Miss Fowler, Mr Walcott The Misses Home &c at Mrs Cole's. Singing & playing charming Home early. Miss B- very interesting
