Saturday, May 13, 1865. A day of triumph! Went to God in prayer that was deperately answered in a few hours. I went to Alexandria. Met the Surgeon of the Slough Barracks. Made all the arrangement we hoped & returned by noon Read Gail Hamiltons new book "Skirmishes & Sketches" on the way Very kindly presented by Mr Weeks. Evening finished Miss Murdocks late work - "Christians Mistake. Miss F- made my bonnet while I read We are having pleasant hours.
