Monday, July 10, 1865. With Miss F- and Manda visited the Patent Office. M- returned to Alexandria. P.M. did some writing, and reading. Tho' it rained took our last ride with Mr Sandford. He left us after tea, and we were sorry indeed to lose so valuable a friend. His gift of the "Hymns of the Ages" I will keep always. How many kind friends God is daily giving me
