Friday, August 11, 1865. Fasted this A.M. that I might get nearer God, and succeeded. Sewed all the forenoon. P.M. went with Mother to prayer metting, and it proved indeed a precious one. Called to see Donnie & found her no better. Home & to sewing again. After tea to Wilson's and did the marketing. Spent all the evening writing letters to Dr B- Burke, & Mrs Porter. Wrote to Father in the A.M.
