Sunday, August 20, 1865. Awoke with my heart full of love to God & all his creatures. Read all of 1st Corithinthians, then other reading till noon. Taught in their S.School & was blest with the attention of the scholars while I told them of heaven Eve' went to Farmington & heard Mr S-s second sermon. He did very well & will certainly do much good. Ride home in the lovely star-light
