Monday, August 28, 1865. We were up exceedingly early. Manda & Jennie washed & I did the housework & cooking. Work all done in the A.M. P.M. sewing. Eve' wrote letters to Mattie & a hurried buisiness letter to Father. Eighteen hours out of bed. Quite enough for one day. Long letters from Mattie & Mrs Robinson. Not reading any these days and sometimes feel that the time is [loss].
