Tuesday, August 29, 1865. Busy cooking and sewing all the forenoon. Manda so full of life that we are cheerful all the time. P.M. tho' warm did the ironing with Jennies help. Very tired when through, but went down town with Manda. Bought the "Hearth-stone series" Jennie, Manda and I then repaired to the saloon & refreshed ourselves with ice-milk Walk home in the moonlight delightful.
