Friday, October 6, 1865. A.M. Ironing. Mr S- made a good-by call & Manda had a dull time entertaining him. P.M. wrote long letters to Mattie, Ellen Mr. Bro Joe &c. Manda read me beautiful poems by Mathew Arnold. Read my chapters & was greatly refreshed by prayer. Eve' called with Manda at Mr Williams & had a pleasant chat. Came home and wrote all the evening. But for one mistake - a happy day.
