Tuesday, October 10, 1865. Up early again. Had the ironing done before noon, but find it very hard work. Cheering letters from bro Joe & Mrs W-. Wrote a number of letters arid read some beautiful poems to Manda from Mathew Arnold. Read my bible lesson and usual season of prayer. The hurry and bustle seems over with us, and we have more rest and quiet for which I am very thankful.
