Saving...
Saturday, October 14, 1865. A cool but beautiful A.M. Walked to Mr Walkers for the butter & milk. Did the chamber work, washed the hall oil cloths, scrubbed &c & so on till noon. Then ripped up my black skirt & spent most of the P. M sewing at it. Eve' Capt Wilson & Lieut Penny came to board with us. Both very fine looking young men. Eve spent sewing very tired & half sick so I retired early. Another busy happy day. House bright & happy.
