Sunday, October 22, 1865. A precious day, very autumn like & therefore thoughtful. Taught a class in S. School. Home and got dinner by the time the family came from church. No time for reading in the A M P.M. went to the funeral & then to leacture; But the best exercise of the day was students class. Prof' Burns spoke many words of cheer. Stayed from night service & read my Bible. Feeling nearer God, & more devoted than for some time.
