Monday, October 30, 1865. All up early and busy with the preparations for the wedding. Went downtown in the P.M. Dr Fitch here to see M- and all anxious on his account. Talked with him awhile in the evening, & surprised at the cheerfulness with which he spoke of death. Mattie Power came the Packet No time for Bible reading, but found time to send up many fervent prayers to God. Stormy day!
