Friday, November 24, 1865. A little more than the usual amount of vexation in school this A.M. Afternoon much better. Letters from Mattie & I.J.R. Manda called to see me at noon & brot' good news from home. Have about decided to remain here this winter, & trust I will be forgiven the selfishness that prompts me. Evening spent very pleasantly in M-s room. If we could only feel that they were as profitable to him.
