Saturday, December 2, 1865. Not up till eight. Manda came over after breakfast & stayed until time to go to the train with Jennie. While they went I went to Mrs Darwins & talked with her & Mrs P_ until M_ came Then we went to the library & wrote until 4. After a very pleasant dinner came home & wrote till bed time but did not finish. Cloudy but warm today. Winter not quite here yet. One week of the new month gone, & so the winter will soon be gone.
