Tuesday, December 12, 1865. Another day of mercies. Very cold, but school went off well and several little things occurred that were a real pleasure to me. A good letter from Father at noon Answered it after school and read several chapters in my book, besides my regular Bible lessons. Devoted nearly half an hour to quiet thought - a rare privilege for me, and profitable too.
