Friday, December 15, 1865. Mr DeHass helped me very much in my work, by his kindness Manda called at noon & I was happy to see her after a whole week of absence. Libbie [Jennie] Mattie & bro Joe [illegible] with Manda & Ellie went to Mrs [D_] Just such a happy evening as I always have [here]. Reading, talking [writting] until after midnight. If I could be here all the time?
