Saving...
Saturday, December 23, 1865. Busy all the A M shopping & packing my carpet sack. Dined at Mrs Dees, then off for home. Charlie met us half way to the depot. Very pleasant to be at home again. Lieut Penny & C Stafford called & stayed to tea. Evening spent in very interesting conversation with Mother Jennie & Charlie. Went with Jennie to purchase some gifts for Charlies Christmas tree. All is peace.
